I have had regular coaching with Jim over the last year and continue to do so as it really helps me to think differently as a leader and be more aware professionally of the fingerprint I am leaving in all of my interactions with others. Jim has created more awareness around the importance of setting goals using his unique handprint system to set my goals for the coming year, which I have in turn used with my team.
At the start of the coaching process I filled out an initial emotional intelligence questionnaire, so the work we do is focused on where my personal development needs are. Alongside encouraging me to read books which has been linked to my professional development plan, I have kept a journal of my daily learning, this has broadened my perspective and thinking as a leader.
My appetite to learn and develop has increased and I really enjoy the time to reflect and grow between each session.
Jim, Reflecting on our 1:1 coaching sessions, I’d like to thank you not only for the many practical ways that you have helped me think about leadership and raising self awareness but also for the richness and variety of our discussions prompted by the diversity of reading material that we covered together.
Jim worked with my senior leadership team over a number of years in individual and group settings. His unique ability to unpack our beliefs and create a self awareness of who we are, what we stand for and how we will show up as leaders, as individuals and as a team is quite remarkable.
I have known Jim Rees for many years and had the privilege of working closely together with him on a couple of occasions. The link between Emotional Intelligence and improved business performance is well established and Jim has the ability to get to the deeper background of this link in a highly developmental and fascinating, yet effective manner. Jim is an EI guru and has demonstrated exceptional expertise and knowledge in this field. In addition, he is an excellent coach with a unique ability to connect with people, including leaders of various backgrounds. Last but not least, Jim has a broad background knowledge of modern management principles which he brings to bear throughout individual coaching sessions as well as team discussions. I have seen first-hand the positive impact of Jim's work and impact on the performance of individuals and teams.
